What are motorized light filtering roller shades?
They are custom window shades made from specialized fabrics that softly diffuse sunlight, paired with a quiet motor for effortless app, voice, or schedule-based control. They let in natural light while reducing glare and UV rays—all without touching a cord.
How to Choose Your Filtering Level?
Our light filtering shades are available in four precision-engineered openness levels, each designed for how you live and look through your windows:
75% Blackout – Maximum Privacy, Gentle Light Allows soft, abundant light while completely obscuring interior details from outside.
70% Blackout – High Privacy, Bright Ambiance Maintains a luminous interior while blocking nearly all outward visibility.
60% Blackout – Soft Privacy, Subtle Connection Balances comfortable light diffusion with a muted view to the outdoors.
50% Blackout – Glare Protection, Open Views Optimized for clarity and comfort. Significantly reduces glare while preserving clear outward visibility.
How do motorized light filtering shades work?
Motorized roller shades are automated versions that allow you to raise or lower shades with a remote, smartphone app, or voice commands via systems like Alexa, Google Home, or Apple HomeKit. They're ideal for high windows, busy households, or full-home automation.
Can motorized shades be controlled when I’m away from home?
Yes, when connected to a compatible smart home system (Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa, etc.), you can control your shades remotely through a mobile app from anywhere.
Are Motorized Roller Shades Easy to Clean?
Roller shades are designed for easy cleaning and minimal upkeep.
Here's a quick guide:
For routine dusting: Use a soft microfiber cloth, a feather duster, or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment. Gently go over the surface about once a month.
For deeper cleaning or spots: Dampen a cloth with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap. Wipe the shade gently, then rinse with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid oversaturating the fabric.
For stubborn stains: Always check the manufacturer's cleaning instructions first. A gentle fabric cleaner can often be used, but testing it on a small, hidden area is recommended.
With just a little care, your roller shades will maintain their fresh, clean look for years to come.
Can I schedule my motorized shades to open and close automatically?
It's a spectrum of light control:
Absolutely. Set daily schedules (e.g., open at sunrise, close at dusk) or create scene-based automations (e.g., “Movie Mode”) through the app or smart home platform.
Are motorized light filtering roller shades energy efficient?
Yes. Besides providing complete privacy, they improve thermal insulation—reducing heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter—which can help lower energy costs.
Are Motorized Roller Shades Child-Safe?
Yes. We recommend cordless or motorized options for homes with children or pets. These eliminate dangling cords, creating a safer environment.
